Job summary

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services is seeking a senior Data Architect I to design and govern enterprise data architectures, models, and integration patterns for reporting and analytics. You will partner with platform teams to ensure consistency across OLTP/OLAP, data lakes, and lakehouse environments.

Candidates should have strong experience with cloud data platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), data governance, and enterprise data standards.

Qualifications

Graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in computer engineering, computer science, information systems, information technology or a STEM related field.
Experience designing and implementing enterprise data models and data integration patterns.
Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data security standards.

Responsibilities

Design, implement and maintain enterprise data architecture across OLTP/OLAP systems.
Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business reporting needs.
Define and guide data standards, metadata, and master data management.
Lead data integration patterns for APIs, event-driven architectures, and batch pipelines.
Monitor and optimize data architecture performance, ensuring scalability and compliance.
