Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with at least 7 years of related experience.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and MySQL.
• Proficiency in Python, R, and data engineering languages.
• Experience with large-scale data systems, distributed computing, and data storage architecture.
• Experience designing ETL/ELT workflows and data integration pipelines.
• Experience building scalable databases and data pipelines.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, or AWS Step Functions.
• Experience migrating workflows between on-prem and cloud environments.
• Experience with Linux and Git/GitHub.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data processes and models to optimize architectures.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines ingesting data from multiple sources.
• Architect and implement ETL/ELT workflows for large-scale data processing.
• Create data solution designs aligned with research needs and data strategy.
• Define database structures, security controls, and metadata documentation.
• Collaborate with research and business teams to improve data models and analytics.
• Implement data quality monitoring for reliable production data.
• Identify internal process improvements to enhance scalability and performance.
• Participate in setting future-state data architecture standards.
