About the Role

Data Architect & Solutions Engineer in the Data Platforms and Architectures Department of the Information Systems and Cyber Division. Full‑time, 100% onsite in Chantilly, VA.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with National Security Space, United States Space Force, and other DoD customers.
• Provide advanced data architecture and engineering designs and solutions for the space enterprise.
• Lead the development of highly resilient and efficient data architectures, platforms, and solutions that are central to current and future information systems.
• Support customers by managing rapidly growing data volumes with innovative data platforms.
• Adapt duties, responsibilities, and activities as needed to meet evolving organizational requirements.
• Drive increased velocity and innovation for Aerospace and our customers through the development of data solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field from an accredited institution.
• 8+ years of professional experience in data engineering and architecture roles.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in a programming language such as Python, C/C++, Java, etc.
• Expertise in modern data architectures, paradigms, solutions, and platforms (e.g., data lakehouse, data fabric, data mesh).
• Experience in enterprise data management systems, data operations, integration, and fusion.
• Experience with cloud‑native application development and deployment.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Platform One).
• Experience in back‑end and middleware development.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to work locations or customer sites domestically or internationally if required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred

• Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in Computer Science or related STEM field.
• Demonstrated expertise in data architectures and developing platforms for multi‑domain enterprise organizations.
• Proficiency in data security, management, governance, orchestration, integration and fusion, virtualization, and access.
• Knowledge of knowledge graphs and ontologies.
• Proficiency in microservices and cloud architectures.
• Strong familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and similar technologies.
• Familiarity with latest AI advancements in data management, governance, and operations.
• Strong technical leadership skills.

Salary

Pay range: $117,300.00 – $175,900.00 annually.
