Data Architect

Full Time US

Salary Range: $80,000.00 To $100,000.00 Annually

Currently seeking an experienced Data Architect to support a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) program. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise data architecture solutions that support mission-critical applications and analytics. You will work closely with technical teams and stakeholders to develop scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions in a cloud-based environment.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with enterprise data modeling, ETL architecture, cloud-based database technologies, and modern data warehouse solutions.

Essential Functions:

• Design and maintain enterprise data architecture strategies that support business and technical objectives.
• Develop logical and physical data models using ER/Studio Enterprise.
• Design and implement scalable data warehouse and data lake solutions.
• Architect and support ETL processes to efficiently integrate data from multiple sources.
• Develop solutions for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Establish data governance, master data management, and data quality best practices.
• Evaluate data architecture tools, technologies, and approaches, providing recommendations based on technical and business requirements.
• Collaborate with software developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable data solutions.
• Support Agile software development activities throughout the system development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Document architecture decisions, standards, and technical designs.

Required Experience:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with ER/Studio Enterprise (Data Modeling & Architecture Tools).
  • Experience with ER/Studio Enterprise is required and cannot be substituted with other data modeling tools.
• 3+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise data architectures.
• 3+ years of experience with AWS, Oracle, and Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS).
• 3+ years of experience designing and developing ETL solutions.
• Experience designing enterprise data warehouses and/or data lakes.
• Experience with data modeling and database design.
• Experience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Experience with Databricks.
• Experience with data governance, master data management, and data quality practices.
• Experience with ETL and data analytics tools.
• Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust clearance.

Desired Experience:

• Experience with Amazon Redshift.
• Experience developing dashboards or reporting solutions using Tableau.
• Experience supporting federal government or healthcare programs.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
