Responsibilities

Job description

The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a Data Architect for the Global Mission Operations Support (GMOS) contract, supporting the Department of State. This role offers a unique opportunity to enhance national security through advanced IT solutions. You will collaborate with experienced professionals in an innovative environment, guiding a high-performing team to deliver excellence. The GMOS contract aims to provide world-class IT support by modernizing and maintaining applications and infrastructure using an integrated IT Service Management approach. Responsibilities:
  • Leads the proactive identification, evaluation, recommendation, and support of Government-approved operational improvements, AI/ML automation opportunities, and emerging technologies that enhance mission effectiveness, customer experience, cybersecurity, service quality, operational resilience, scalability, and cost efficiency across the GMOS enterprise
  • Establishes and governs the Capacity Management Plan (CMP) detailing current performance and utilization, forecasting future requirements, identifying capacity issues, and outlining strategic plans to enhance performance and meet business needs
  • Defines capacity utilization metrics to support infrastructure expansion planning and budgeting, utilizing advanced analytics and ML to predict resource needs and prevent performance degradation across all IT infrastructure, applications, and environments
  • Directs infrastructure architecture development ensuring alignment with DoS and Federal standards, translating architectural directions into support requirements including detailed impact assessments, risk analysis of proposed migrations, and supportability evaluations
  • Establishes and governs IT infrastructure standards aligned with DoS, Federal, and industry best practices, directing the research, design, and recommendation of processes and technical solutions to achieve standardization across the organization
  • Governs long-range system planning by evaluating and recommending tools and processes that enhance stability and functionality, comparing requirements against current and planned infrastructure architecture, and identifying opportunities to consolidate devices and services
  • Architects integrated dashboard solutions that deliver high-level, near-real-time visibility into enterprise environment health with the ability to analyze trends and metrics, ensuring mobile-friendly responsive interfaces compliant with Section 508 accessibility requirements
  • Defines capacity management frameworks establishing thresholds for all systems, continuously monitoring IT resource usage, and capturing trending information to forecast current and future capacity requirements integrated into monitoring systems
  • Leads service portfolio and catalog transformation by identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing service opportunities that deliver measurable business value, integrating cloud-based services and emerging technologies with automated workflows and analytics
  • Directs cross-functional collaboration with DT/EA/CST through architecture review boards, ensuring all architecture development activities address security, privacy, and compliance requirements and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in infrastructure architecture
  • Provides technical/management leadership on major assignments, establishes goals and plans that meet project objectives, and directs activities with overall responsibility for financial management, methods, and staffing
Qualifications:
Required –
  • BA/BS degree and 13+ years of related experience; additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Extensive experience designing, architecting, and governing enterprise-scale data, infrastructure, and/or technology solutions within complex IT environments
  • Demonstrated experience developing data architectures, models, integration strategies, and analytics solutions that enable enterprise reporting, performance monitoring, capacity planning, and informed decision-making
  • Experience leveraging advanced analytics, automation, AI/ML, or predictive modeling capabilities to identify trends, forecast requirements, and improve operational performance
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture principles, data governance, interoperability, system integration, and technology standardization across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments
  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks, tools, and service management processes, including capacity, performance, configuration, and service portfolio management
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business and mission requirements into scalable technical architectures, standards, roadmaps, and implementation strategies
  • Experience conducting architectural assessments, technology evaluations, impact analyses, and technical risk assessments for enterprise modernization and migration initiatives
  • Proven ability to provide SME-level technical leadership, influence architecture and technology decisions, and collaborate with senior technical, cybersecurity, program, and Government stakeholders

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
