Job Summary

Expectations from this role: Proficiency in designing, developing, and implementing data architecture for a large enterprise in two of the following areas: Data ingestion, Data Management, Data Delivery, Data Consumption.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Architect, design, and implement high‑performance large‑volume data integration, transformation, warehousing, data lakes, and cloud data solutions; develop data analysis, reporting, and visualization using one tool such as PowerBI, Tableau, or D3.
  2. Design and implement a cloud big‑data solution (AWS, Azure, GCP, or Apache Hadoop).
  3. Plan information architecture by studying the site concept, strategy, domain, target audience, information structure, features, representation, backup, recovery, and security specifications.
  4. Improve customer service and engage customers to build solutions collaboratively.
  5. Provide end‑to‑end technical guidance and roadmaps for Sales & Marketing.
  6. Validate estimates from the team.
  7. Hold a Big‑Data architecture certification in one of AWS, Azure, or GCP and be knowledgeable about other cloud and big‑data platforms.
  8. Develop and deliver long‑term and short‑term strategic goals for data architecture vision and standards.
  9. Establish processes for governing the identification, collection, and use of corporate data assets and metadata, ensuring data quality and regulatory compliance.
  10. Establish governance, stewardship, and frameworks for managing data across the organization.
  11. Develop and promote data management methodologies and standards, selecting and implementing appropriate tools and systems.
  12. Collaborate with project managers and business teams on all projects involving enterprise data.
  13. Address data‑related issues with system integration, compatibility, and multi‑platform integration.
  14. Lead and advocate data management, coaching and training teams.
  15. Document data architecture and maintain an up‑to‑date view of the larger data picture.
  16. Identify and develop opportunities for data reuse, migration, or retirement.
  17. Perform data architecture design reviews and recommend optimizations for cost, time, and asset utilization.
  18. Provide advice to teams dealing with complex technical issues and conduct technical audits as needed.
  19. Define and measure architectural and technology quality metrics.
  20. Provide input for training programs, curriculum development, and knowledge management.
  21. Understand the overall system or transformation program context and validate cross‑application and cross‑technology requirements.
People Management

Provide support to project managers in identifying training needs; conduct training and certifications, mentor technical skills, evaluate candidates, and offer career guidance and performance management.

Alliance Management

Identify alliance partners based on service offerings and client requirements, develop joint go‑to‑market strategies, maintain relationships, and act as the UST technical point of contact.

Technology Consulting
  1. Define the problem statement for the customer.
  2. Analyze the application/technology landscape and propose suitable solutions.
  3. Evaluate cost versus benefit of solution options.
  4. Define a technology/architecture roadmap for the client.
  5. Articulate cost and benefit to stakeholders.
Innovation and Thought Leadership
  1. Participate in external forums such as seminars and paper presentations.
  2. Engage customers and partners on new innovative ideas and industry trends.
  3. Participate in beta testing of products or joint lab setups.
  4. Identify reusable components and design patterns.
  5. Create documents, reports, and white papers on research findings.
Sales Support and Project Estimation
  1. Develop collaterals for proposals.
  2. Compare design options and propose technology solutions.
  3. Calculate and present estimates to support go/no‑go decisions.
  4. Review estimations, resource plans, risk, and mitigation plans.
  5. Participate in client presentations and visits.
Data Design & Definition
  1. Ensure alignment of high‑level architecture with client needs and business logic.
  2. Involve appropriate teams in data design.
  3. Ensure technical integration and requirements compliance.
  4. Consult on product selection, configuration, migration, and transformation across cloud and hosted solutions.
  5. Maintain architecture principles and quality of architecture standards.
  6. Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  7. Resolve issues using industry expertise and partner leverage.
  8. Provide best‑in‑class technology options and detailed examples.
Project Management Support

Proactively identify and manage technical risks.

Stakeholder Management
  1. Build credibility with the client as a technical go‑to person.
  2. Expand professional network within the client organization.
New Service Design
  1. Identify opportunities for new service offerings based on customer voice, partner inputs, and industry trends.
  2. Support the development of business cases and obtain management approval.
  3. Co‑develop joint go‑to‑market strategies with partners.
  4. Develop intellectual property, tools, and frameworks.
  5. Lead beta testing or proof of concept where applicable.
  6. Create collaterals and guides for go‑to‑market.
Required Qualifications
  1. Use knowledge of technology trends to identify potential opportunities.
  2. Apply architecture concepts and principles to create functional and non‑functional requirements.
  3. Use design patterns, tools, and principles to produce high‑level designs and evaluate options.
  4. Apply software development processes to improve methodology and tools.
  5. Support project management and agile tools for medium‑size projects.
  6. Understand project metrics and share them with stakeholders.
  7. Create estimates and plan resources for modules or small projects.
  8. Leverage knowledge management tools to create and update knowledge artifacts.
  9. Use technical standards and documentation templates appropriately.
  10. Support requirement gathering and analysis to produce design documents.
  11. Strong proficiency in understanding data, workflows, and data flows.
  12. Attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, creative solution development, self‑learning, resilience.
