Job summary

Colgate-Palmolive Company, based in Piscataway, NJ, is seeking a Data Architect to bridge data engineering and business strategy. You will be the hands-on lead on Python, SQL, Snowflake and dbt pipelines, diving into code to unblock engineers and ensure data products meet delivery timelines.

You’ll manage sprint backlogs and collaborate with data delivery leads, engineers, and suppliers to deliver high-impact datasets for core metrics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field is required.
  • 4+ years total in Data Engineering & Data Architecting.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, dbt, Airflow.
  • Experience creating ERDs and DFDs.
  • Data Warehouse experience, Snowflake preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on lead resolving blockers across Python, SQL, Snowflake, and dbt pipelines.
  • Perform GitHub PR reviews to enforce testing and quality.
  • Ensure engineering aligns with cloud data warehousing and orchestration standards (Airflow).
  • Deliver high-impact datasets for core metrics sourced from SAP, Kinaxis, and WMS/TMS tools.
  • Manage sprint backlogs, timelines, and cross-functional teams.

As our Data Architect, you are a hands-on technical driver who bridges business strategy and data engineering, working side-by-side with our Data Delivery Leads & Data Engineers to build and ship high-performance data products on time. Instead of managing from the sidelines, you will dive deep into code to unblock engineers, optimize data pipelines, and keep our supply chain logistics running seamlessly so products reach store shelves clean and fresh.

This position is based out of the Piscataway, NJ location. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

The impact you’ll make

Serve as the hands-on lead resolving technical blockers across Python, SQL, Snowflake, and dbt pipelines.

Perform GitHub PR reviews to enforce testing, quality, and platform standards.

Ensure all engineering aligns with modern cloud data warehousing and orchestration standards (Airflow / GKE).

Deliver high-impact datasets for core metrics (OTIF, Forecast Accuracy, Inventory) sourced from SAP, Kinaxis, and WMS/TMS tools.

Manage sprint backlogs, project timelines, internal engineers, and third-party consultants across concurrent initiatives.

What You’ll Bring to the Team
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related quantitative field.

4+ years total in Data Engineering & Data Architecting

Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, dbt, Airflow.

Hands-on experience creating ERDs and DFDs

Data Warehouse experience ( Snowflake preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

Background in Consumer Packaged Goods or high-volume retail/logistics environments.

Exposure to automated testing tools like Great Expectations, Monte Carlo, or dbt tests.

Experience using Lucid

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $106,400.00 - $155,000.00 USD

Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.

Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
