PHT Staffing LLC is seeking an experienced Data Architect (Databricks) in Houston, TX for a hybrid, contract-to-fulltime opportunity. The role requires deep hands-on expertise across Databricks, Azure cloud services, data governance, and lakehouse architectures.

Ideal candidates will bring 15+ years in data engineering, 5+ years in data architecture, and strong leadership to guide enterprise data solutions, ETL/ELT pipelines, and secure data access across teams.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
• 5+ years in Data Architecture.
• 5+ years hands-on with Databricks; expert-level preferred.
• Strong Azure cloud data architecture expertise.
• Proficient in PySpark, Spark, Spark SQL and Python.
• Extensive experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong experience with Delta Lake and Medallion Architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (ADLS Gen2).
• Strong SQL skills, including query optimization and performance tuning.
• Experience with Databricks Jobs, Workflows, clusters, notebooks, and performance optimization.
• Understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and enterprise data architecture.
• Hands-on with Unity Catalog, data governance, security, and access controls.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, Azure DevOps, and DevOps practices.
• Experience designing and implementing Azure Databricks Lakehouse architectures.
• Understanding of data governance, data lineage, metadata management and security.
• Experience providing technical leadership to Data Engineering teams.

• 15+ years of experience in Data Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in Data Architecture
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Databricks; expert‑level expertise preferred
