Job summary

Guidehouse seeks a highly skilled Data Architect to design and implement modern data architectures supporting fraud detection, investigation, prosecution, and enterprise decision-making for a federal client. You will lead data strategy, governance, integration, analytics, and platform modernization to ensure data assets are secure and optimized for advanced analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data architectures.
  • Provide Databricks governance and architecture guidance.
  • Develop roadmaps for data platforms and analytics environments.
  • Design and oversee data integration solutions (ETL/ELT, data pipelines).
  • Architect system-to-system and API data integrations across enterprise apps.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.

What You Will Do

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to join our growing team. In this role you will support our federal client by designing and implementing modern data architectures that enable fraud detection, investigation, prosecution, and enterprise decision-making. The Data Architect will lead data strategy, governance, integration, analytics, and platform modernization efforts, ensuring data assets are secure, accessible, compliant, and optimized for advanced analytical capabilities. The ideal candidate will provide strategic leadership in data architecture, governance, analytics, and platform integration while ensuring scalable, secure, and compliant data solutions that support mission-critical operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data architectures that align with organizational goals and technology strategies.
  • Provide Databricks governance and architecture expertise, including best practices for data management, security, metadata management, and platform optimization.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on data architecture, analytics strategy, and data modernization initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain architecture baselines, reference architectures, and technical roadmaps for data platforms and analytical environments.
  • Design and oversee data integration solutions, including ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and data transformation frameworks.
  • Architect and support system-to-system and API integrations to enable seamless data exchange across enterprise applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and translate business objectives into scalable technical solutions.
  • Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) integration activities, ensuring data platforms comply with security, governance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop platform sustainment and operational support strategies to ensure long-term reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Enable advanced analytics and reporting capabilities through the design of data warehouses, data lakes, and analytical data models.
  • Create and support data visualization solutions that provide actionable insights to business and technical stakeholders.
  • Provide technical leadership in data engineering, data analytics, and information governance initiatives.
  • Establish and promote data quality, metadata management, and data stewardship practices.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and develop technical documentation to ensure successful adoption and sustainment of data solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including enterprise architects, security teams, developers, analysts, and business leaders to deliver integrated data solutions.
What You Will Need
  • Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DHS "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • EIGHT (8) or more years of experience administering enterprise application/systems to include THREE (3) years supporting production environments.
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise data architectures and modern data platforms.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT processes, data integration, and API-based architectures.
  • Experience developing data visualizations and analytical reporting solutions.Experience supporting platform sustainment, operational planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud security.
  • Experience in application evaluations, technology feasibility assessments, architecture recommendations, integration planning, Databricks and platform advisory.
What Would Be Nice To Have
  • Existing Secret or Top secret, DOJ or DHS Suitability.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide architecture advisory services and knowledge transfer to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proficiency in data engineering, analytics, and business intelligence solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Databricks, data governance, and cloud-based analytics environments.
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Security, Certified DevSecOps Professional, or CISSP.
  • Experience with multiple Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (i.e., Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins).
  • Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of data Lakehouse architectures and modern analytics frameworks.
  • Experience supporting federal government or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture methodologies and integration patterns.
  • Familiarity with RMF, security compliance, and governance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
  • Certifications such as: Databricks Certified Data Architect Associate, AWS Certified Data Engineer - Associate, Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification
