Job summary

Regions Bank in Hoover, AL seeks a Data and Analytics Analyst to transform data for operational and decision-making purposes, working with senior analysts to gather and interpret data for leaders to drive data-driven decisions.

This role blends data analytics with data governance, delivering reports and dashboards using Power BI, SQL, and Excel while ensuring data quality and governance compliance.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, or related field.
  • Or, a Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, or related field and two (2) years of experience in a data analytics or related role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and analyze reports, dashboards, and business insights using Power BI, SQL, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Monitor, measure, and improve data quality through ongoing assessment, issue identification, root cause analysis, and remediation efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise and regulatory data governance policies, standards, and controls.
  • Partner with centralized Data Management and Governance teams to implement governance best practices and support data management initiatives.
  • Investigate data quality issues, recommend corrective actions, and elevate threshold breaches as appropriate.
  • Manage and track data quality remediation plans, coordinating with business and technology stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain inventories and catalogs of data assets to support data transparency, accessibility, and governance objectives.

Job Description

At Regions, the Data and Analytics Analyst transforms data into a meaningful format for operational and/or decision-making purposes. Focusing on day-to-day deliverables, this role works with senior analysts and managers to gather and interpret data for leaders to make data-driven decisions.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assists in preparing reports that are valuable, readable, and presentable to stakeholders
  • Assists in the preparation of visual reports/presentations to present analysis to management
  • Interprets, analyzes, and provides insights to teams and managers to determine operational impact, trends, and opportunities
  • Performs data analysis to help achieve data automation
  • Creates and maintains databases to help classify & store information
  • Completes day-to-day deliverables and ad-hoc data reports to support business needs/projects and answer data related questions
  • Ensures compliance by performing quality data audits, mining, and management
  • Monitors data and analytics trends and seeks opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Partners with the centralized Data Governance team to implement and support data governance and data quality requirements

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements
  • Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, or related field
  • Or, a Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, or related field and two (2) years of experience in a data analytics or related role
Preferences
  • Experience utilizing analytical software such as Structured Query Language (SQL), Statistical Analysis System (SAS), SAS Enterprise Miner, and applicable Microsoft Office applications
  • Working knowledge of business intelligence software (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)

Additional Job Requirements

This role is a balanced blend of Data & Analytics and Data Governance, supporting business reporting and analytics while ensuring adherence to the bank's data governance framework, policy, and standards.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Translate business requirements and rules into data quality controls, validation rules, and monitoring processes.
  • Manage and resolve data-related issues while supporting continuous improvement of data integrity, accuracy, and reliability across the organization.

This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. This position must be within a reasonable driving distance to Birmingham, AL.

Regions will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position at this time. Applicants for this position must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
