Job summary

The RMR Group is seeking an experienced Manager of Data Analytics to lead a Data Analytics team within Enterprise Applications in Orlando, FL. This player/coach role combines hands-on analytics with team leadership and a strategic data roadmap.

The ideal candidate has deep Microsoft BI stack expertise (Power BI, SQL Server, SSAS Tabular) and a passion for AI-augmented analytics that empower business users with self‑service insights.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Management, Information Systems, Information Science or a related quantitative field.
  • 7+ years of experience in data analytics or business intelligence, with at least 2 years in a team lead or management capacity.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and enterprise‑grade report and dashboard development.
  • Deep experience designing, building and tuning SSAS Tabular models (Analysis Services data cubes) for enterprise analytics workloads.
  • Strong SQL skills with hands‑on experience in SQL Server, including query optimization, stored procedures, and schema design.
  • Familiarity with the full Microsoft SQL Server BI stack: SSAS, SSIS, SSRS and Excel/Power Query.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and retain a team of data professionals.
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear narratives for technical and executive audiences.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps principles applied to data pipelines.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to data quality and accuracy.
  • Genuine curiosity about applying AI to analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage and mentor a team of Data Analysts, fostering curiosity, technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Define team goals, set performance expectations, and conduct regular performance evaluations and career development conversations.
  • Champion Agile delivery practices within the analytics team, facilitating sprint planning, retrospectives and backlog prioritization.
  • Serve as an escalation point and technical advisor for complex data issues, ensuring timely resolution and knowledge sharing.
  • Partner with the Senior Director to shape the analytics strategy and ownership of the analytics roadmap.
  • Drive adoption of self‑service analytics, reducing ad‑hoc reporting burden while empowering business users.
  • Collaborate with Data & AI Platforms on pipelines and infrastructure for scalable, governed AI‑ready analytics.
  • Design and develop Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models delivering actionable insights to leadership.
  • Architect and optimize SSAS Tabular models to support enterprise analytics workloads.
  • Lead design reviews and peer code reviews for analytics deliverables ensuring quality and documentation.
  • Collaborate with application teams to ensure optimal data structures for analytics across the Microsoft BI stack.
  • Present data findings and roadmaps to senior leadership and cross‑functional teams.
  • Evangelize data management best practices and promote a data‑driven culture.
  • Lead the team’s evolution toward AI‑augmented analytics including AI tooling like Copilot for Power BI.
  • Stay current on AI in analytics, lakehouse and data mesh patterns, bringing practical innovations.
