Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a proactive Data and Analytics Intern to help design scalable data structures, reporting solutions, and data intake processes. You will work with global operations data to transform sources into analysis-ready datasets and support KPI reporting.

The role offers hands-on experience in data engineering, business intelligence, and process improvement, with opportunities to collaborate across teams and improve reporting workflows.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Data Science, CS, IS, Business Analytics or related field.
• Proficient in Python with Pandas/NumPy or similar libraries.
• Foundational knowledge of SQL and data modeling concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication, able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design standardized data structures and intake processes for data lake, automation, and analytics.
• Use Python, SQL, and Excel to collect, clean, transform, and consolidate data from multiple sources.
• Analyze KPIs and related metrics to identify trends, data-quality issues, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop or enhance Power BI reports to support operations and leadership decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify reporting gaps and inefficiencies.
• Prepare clear summaries and presentations communicating analytical findings and actions.
• Maintain documentation on data sources, transformation logic, reporting processes, data lineage, and quality controls.
