Job summary

Nassau Financial Group invites students to join its 10-week summer internship program in our Albany, NY office to explore insurance and asset management. Through hands-on tasks, you’ll gain exposure to analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision making while rotating through fields to learn where you fit best.

Participants develop practical skills in R/Python, SQL, and data workflows, with mentoring and a culture that values results, ownership, and collaboration. Base pay is $23 per hour.

Qualifications

• Interest in data analytics, reporting, data science, or a related field.
• Foundational knowledge of R and/or Python.
• Willingness to learn Posit Workspace, Posit Connect, and Positron.
• Basic understanding of databases, data structures, and SQL.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail in data validation and reporting.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Commitment to maintaining data confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Develop working knowledge of Posit Workspace, Posit Connect, and Positron.
• Build practical programming skills in R and/or Python via reporting, data analysis and automation tasks.
• Gain understanding of data warehouse architecture and how to access data from EDW/EDM environments.
• Learn end-to-end report development process: requirements, validation, reporting, testing, documentation, delivery.
• Develop understanding of annuity products, terminology, processes, and data for reporting.
