Job summary

John Deere offers a Data & Analytics Development Program I for new graduates. This full-time role provides three one-year assignments across diverse areas such as Financial Services, IT, Precision Agriculture, and more.

You will rotate through analytics projects using modern tools to build data-driven solutions and stakeholder collaboration. Participants gain exposure to data science and data engineering practices, with an onboarding that aims to fast-track development in a large manufacturing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a quantitative field.
  • GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or higher is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and visualization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Build a network of contacts across 3 different areas of John Deere's business.
  • Gain expertise using the latest analytics technology & tools.
  • Learn and apply data science and data engineering techniques to solve business problems.
  • Lead and/or support key analytics projects.
  • Manage and work with large, diverse data sets.
  • Collaborate with data and analytics colleagues as well as key business stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities

The Data &Analytics Development Program is a full-time position for new or recent graduates interested in working as a Data Scientist, Data Engineer or BI Analyst. This provides an accelerated development experience during the first 3 years of employment in the company, through 3 one-year-long work assignments. Employees rotate across varied functional areas such as Financial Services, IT, Precision Agriculture, Customer & Product Support, Sales & Marketing, Engineering or others.

What Skills You Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or related quantitative discipline
  • Desired cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Knowledge of applied statistical analysis, modeling techniques, and data visualization methods.
  • Proficiency in programming languages Python, SQL, R.
  • Ability to demonstrate your development of algorithms and predictive models to solve a problem.
  • Must pass a Data & Analytics technical assessment and code pairing interview.

Must be able to relocate domestically. Assignments will be onsite in the Quad Cities area (Moline, IL/ Davenport, IA), or the Des Moines area (Urbandale, IA /Johnston, IA).
