Job summary

Bread for the World is seeking an Intern for Development Operations & Data Analytics in Washington, DC. This part-time role supports data analysis, dashboards, and data quality for grant reporting, using Tableau and RENXT to build resources on health and hunger metrics.

You will learn data sourcing, cleaning, transformation, and visualization while collaborating with multiple teams to support program evaluation and reporting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in data analytics, data science, statistics, public health, or related field.
• Experience with Tableau, Tableau Prep, and Power BI; dashboard experience is required.
• Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT (RENXT) preferred; data maintenance is a plus.
• Detail-oriented, organized, flexible, and able to meet deadlines with clear documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and following established data procedures.

Responsibilities

• Identify and gather publicly available data related to food insecurity, nutritional health, demographics, and public programs.
• Clean, transform, aggregate, document, and validate data for analysis, visualization, and reporting in Tableau.
• Assist with developing and maintaining interactive Tableau dashboards and resources that track health metrics by year, demographic group, and geography.
• Update dashboards as new data becomes available and monitor key health metrics.
• Assist with generating state-based factsheets from the U.S. Hunger Data Dashboard for Bread staff.
• Support data collection, quality assurance, and documentation for program evaluation and grant reporting.
• Prepare data summaries and visualizations for technical and nontechnical audiences; collaborate with staff.
