Qualifications

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our Middle Market Operations team. The role will utilize data analytics techniques, leading-edge tools, and business acumen to drive business objectives and operational excellence. The Data Analyst will work cross-functionally to uncover actionable insights, streamline processes, and support both tactical and strategic business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Capture: Ensure that critical data identified for the business is captured consistently.
  • Analytical Insights: Analyze and interpret operational data to identify key trends, process inefficiencies, and actionable opportunities for improvement.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day data and process challenges; perform root cause analysis and recommend sustainable, data-driven solutions.
  • Develop, maintain, and automate dashboards, reports, and data visualizations in tools such as Power BI and Salesforce, enabling clear and impactful communication of findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders across Underwriting, IT/Systems, Compliance, Claims, and Finance to design and implement data specific business solutions and enhance processes.
  • Partner with IT and business systems analysts to define data requirements, optimize workflows, and support system enhancements.
  • Support cross-functional projects with robust data analysis throughout the lifecycle—from requirements gathering to post-implementation review.
  • Champion data quality, governance, and best practices within the operations team.
Professional Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Business Intelligence, Information Systems, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, advanced formulas).
  • Hands-on experience with one or more data analytics and visualization tools, specifically Power BI.
  • Experience in process mapping tools (e.g., Microsoft Visio) is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to manipulate, interpret, and visualize large datasets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Superior organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with commercial insurance policy administration systems is an asset.
