The Data Analyst Lead is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and ongoing evolution of measurement, analytics, and reporting capabilities within Madhive’s product platform. This role owns complex analytics initiatives from initial requirements through technical design, development, validation, deployment, and ongoing optimization.

Working closely with Product, Engineering, Client Success, and other data professionals, the Data Analyst Lead will establish scalable reporting solutions, improve data quality and reliability, and translate complex data into actionable insights for internal teams and customers.

This role serves as a technical and analytical leader for the team. The Data Analyst Lead will provide guidance to other analysts, establish best practices, and help determine the methods, architecture, and standards used across new analytics and reporting initiatives. The ideal candidate combines advanced analytics and visualization expertise with an application and data engineering mindset.

This is a hybrid role, working 3 days a week at Madhive HQ in New York City

What You’ll Do
Analytics and Reporting Leadership
  • Lead the end-to-end development of complex reporting, measurement, and analytics solutions within Madhive’s product platform.
  • Translate business, product, and customer needs into clear technical requirements, reporting specifications, and implementation plans.
  • Design scalable reporting frameworks, dashboards, and automated solutions that support internal teams and external customers.
  • Develop advanced analyses that identify performance trends, business opportunities, data quality issues, and actionable recommendations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for media measurement, reporting methodologies, data interpretation, and visualization design.
  • Ensure reporting solutions are accurate, intuitive, scalable, and aligned with business and customer needs.
Data Engineering and Technical Ownership
  • Design, develop, and optimize ETLs, data pipelines, scheduled queries, and reporting automation.
  • Write and review advanced SQL queries used to transform, validate, and analyze large and complex datasets.
  • Partner with backend and data engineers to define data models, reporting structures, system integrations, and technical requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve complex data discrepancies, reporting inconsistencies, and performance issues across multiple systems.
  • Establish validation, documentation, testing, and quality-control standards for analytics and reporting solutions.
  • Evaluate new tools, technologies, and approaches that improve the scalability, efficiency, and reliability of the reporting environment.
  • Contribute to web-based reporting integrations, including iframe implementations and embedded analytics experiences.
Project and Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Lead high-impact analytics projects involving multiple teams, systems, and stakeholders.
  • Define project scope, requirements, milestones, dependencies, risks, and success measures.
  • Partner with Product leaders to shape the roadmap for analytics, measurement, and reporting capabilities.
  • Communicate technical concepts, project risks, analytical findings, and recommendations to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex reporting, data, and analytical issues.
  • Balance immediate business needs with long-term platform scalability and technical sustainability.
Team Leadership and Development
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to data analysts and other team members.
  • Review analytical approaches, SQL, dashboards, technical documentation, and reporting solutions developed by others.
  • Establish and promote consistent standards for data analysis, visualization, documentation, and quality assurance.
  • Lead knowledge-sharing sessions and help strengthen the team’s technical and analytical capabilities.
  • Support project prioritization and work allocation across analytics initiatives.
  • Influence team practices and technical direction without requiring formal direct-report management responsibilities.
Who You Are
  • 5 or more years of professional experience in data analytics, business intelligence, media analytics, data engineering, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience working with Google BigQuery or comparable cloud-based data platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex analytics or reporting projects from requirements gathering through implementation.
  • Strong experience designing and maintaining ETLs, data pipelines, scheduled queries, and reporting automation.
  • Experience with tools such as Google Cloud Platform, Airflow, GitHub, or comparable technologies.
  • Advanced experience with reporting and visualization platforms such as Looker, Tableau, Domo, Datorama, Looker Studio, TapClicks, or similar tools.
  • Strong experience wrangling, exploring, cleaning, validating, and analyzing large structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify insights and translate findings into practical business and product recommendations.
  • Experience developing data models, technical requirements, testing plans, and reporting documentation.
  • Experience with embedded analytics, iframe integrations, APIs, or web development concepts.
  • Working knowledge of Python. Experience with Java, Scala, Spark, or similar technologies is a plus.
  • Experience working across data environments such as Google Cloud, AWS, Hadoop, or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring analysts, reviewing technical work, or providing leadership across projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical teams, business leaders, and client-facing stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisions in an evolving environment.
What Sets You Apart
  • Experience with advertising technology, streaming television, digital media, campaign measurement, or marketing analytics.
  • Experience building customer-facing analytics or reporting products.
  • Strong understanding of media performance metrics, attribution, audience measurement, or campaign reporting.
  • A track record of improving reporting accuracy, automation, scalability, or operational efficiency.
  • The ability to move comfortably between strategic planning, hands-on analysis, and technical execution.

The approximate compensation range for this position is $137,000-$165,000. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
