Job summary

Altais is seeking a Data Analyst Lead to develop and deliver complex healthcare, clinical, provider and financial data sets, acting as an internal consultant to support reporting, dashboards, and analytics. You will lead data extraction, validation, and visualization initiatives across enterprise teams, applying advanced SQL, statistics, and BI tools to inform strategic decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in data analytics or related field.
  • Coursework in systems analysis, computer science, SQL, statistics, databases, or related areas.
  • Master’s degree in CS, business management, health or public administration (preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience with data and reporting using BI tools (SSIS/SSAS/SSRS, Tableau, PowerBI).

Responsibilities

  • Technical data mining and extraction across EHR, eligibility, or claims data.
  • Consult to refine data collection and analytics for BI and decision support.
  • Analyze and present provider, member, clinical, and cost data; benchmark information.
  • Identify cost/utilization patterns to find inefficiencies and opportunities.
  • Train teammates on data tools, processes, and findings.
  • Coordinate with teams to ensure best practices, validation, and documentation.

The Data Analyst Lead is an expert in developing and delivering complex healthcare, clinical, provider and financial data sets to meet the organization’s needs. This role acts as an internal consultant to the enterprise to support reporting, dashboards, data visualization and extracts while developing reporting solutions and analytical methodologies to meet current and evolving business needs. The data analyst lead is a key participant supporting the organization’s strategic aims and imperative to lead through data-driven decision making. The lead data analyst role is a partner to multi-faceted departments providing high-level business intelligence and analytics requirements of varying disciplines. Advance skills in SQL, statistical analysis, reporting cycle, project management, customer service and consultative skills are critical to the success of this position.

You will focus on:
  • Technical expert in data mining and extraction using a variety of software tools and sources to include but not limited to electronic health record, eligibility, or claims data.
  • Serves as an internal consultant concerning the refinement of data collection and analytic procedures used to provide business intelligence and decision support around complex challenges facing the organization.
  • Collects, analyzes, interprets, and presents comparative provider, member, clinical and cost data, integrates benchmark information.
  • Takes ownership of data needs to independently identify, investigate, and communicate cost and utilization patterns for inefficiencies and potential opportunities to help reduce overall total cost of care.
  • Trains team members and others in particularities of data; the available tools; the solution processes and the business findings related with Enterprise Analytics efforts.
  • Coordinates with team members to assure common practices, validation, and documentation are following company and industry standards.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to provide data as well as automate design.
The Skills, Experience & Education You Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in data analytics or related field.
  • Demonstrated coursework in systems analysis, computer science, SQL, statistics, databases, or other related areas.
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in computer science, business management, health or public administration, or related fields.
  • 8+ years of experience working with data including previous experience creating variety of reports using a Business Intelligence or Analytics tool (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, SQL Management Studio, Cognos, Tableau, PowerBI)
  • 8+ years of working knowledge and demonstrated usage of dimensional databases as source of data for reporting.
  • Preferred: 8+ years working with managed care applications like GE Centricity, Epic, Cerner etc.

The Base Salary for this position is $89,250 - $107,100/year
