Downtown Seattle Association seeks a Data Analyst to turn complex information into clear insights for downtown Seattle's programs and policy decisions. You will build datasets, develop dashboards and reports, and support surveys for leadership and stakeholders.

The role emphasizes analytical thinking, data quality, and cross-team collaboration to measure impact and improve service delivery in a vibrant urban environment.

Qualifications

• Two to four years of professional experience in data analysis, public policy, research, program evaluation, urban planning, economics or a related field.
• Strong Excel skills and working proficiency in SQL and database management.
• Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail and professional communication.
• Able to work collaboratively or independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain datasets related to downtown economic activity, pedestrian traffic, real estate, development trends and MID operations.
• Analyze data for trends and differences to improve efficiency and outcomes of DSA and MID programs.
• Support major research products including State of Downtown Economic Report and Downtown Dashboard.
• Conduct data and policy analysis to support strategic planning, advocacy and operations.
• Communicate assumptions, limitations and methods clearly when combining data from sources.
• Prepare charts, talking points and presentations for meetings.
• Coordinate with data vendors and public agencies to improve data access and methodologies.
