The Data Analyst will design data base and analytical systems to fully capture national outcomes data for the Division of Transplantation, Department of Surgery. These systems will be used to develop transplant surgery outcomes programs for clinical and research purposes. This role requires significant experience in designing data systems for analysis of medical outcomes and an interactive relationship with the statistical research staff in the Division.
Responsibilities
- Design, test, and deliver new system solutions to meet organizational needs.
- Design web user interfaces for data collection and management.
- Query databases to create reports and verify data accuracy; export/import data between sources.
- Perform statistical analyses and statistical programming using SAS, Stata, and other tools.
- Learn and apply new statistical techniques for existing projects or proposals.
- Support manuscript writing for peer‑reviewed journals and coordinate with staff on project management.
- Train users of various database systems.
- Develop and support the school\'s websites, applications, and databases.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor\'s degree and 2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong statistical background; excellent writing skills preferred. An advanced degree in Genetics, Statistical Genetics, or related discipline is preferred.
- Experience with UNIX, R, MySQL, Python, and Perl; clear knowledge of computer applications in clinical settings.
- Experience with Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, STATA or similar statistical package and database applications.
- Ability to exercise initiative and judgment in setting priorities and working independently.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, computers, and various software packages; previous database experience required.
