Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Analyze large banking and financial datasets using SQL, Python, Excel, and Power BI.
• Develop complex SQL queries with CTEs, joins, subqueries, window functions, aggregations, and case statements.
• Analyze customer accounts, transactions, payments, deposits, loans, and financial activity.
• Develop interactive Power BI/Tableau dashboards for KPIs.
• Perform data cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and quality checks across multiple sources.
• Identify data discrepancies and root causes; prepare reports daily, weekly and monthly.
• Automate recurring reporting processes using SQL, Python, Excel, and BI tools.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into reports and dashboards.
• Create requirements, data mapping docs, and reporting specifications; support UAT and document defects.
• Document SQL logic, data sources, business rules, KPI definitions and reporting processes.

Position Overview

Techwave Technologies is seeking a Data Analyst to support a banking and financial-services analytics project. The candidate will work with large-scale financial datasets, develop analytical reports and dashboards, perform data validation and reconciliation, and provide actionable insights to support business and operational decisions.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with SQL, Excel, Power BI/Tableau, Python, data analysis, financial reporting, and data quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze large banking and financial datasets using SQL, Python, Excel, and Power BI.
• Develop complex SQL queries using CTEs, joins, subqueries, window functions, aggregations, and case statements.
• Analyze customer accounts, transactions, payments, deposits, loans, financial activity, and operational performance.
• Develop interactive Power BI/Tableau dashboards for financial and operational KPIs.
• Perform data cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and quality checks across multiple source systems.
• Identify data discrepancies, anomalies, and unusual transaction patterns and perform root-cause analysis.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial and operational reports.
• Automate recurring reporting processes using SQL, Python, Excel, and BI tools.
• Perform trend analysis, variance analysis, segmentation, and KPI analysis.
• Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into analytical and reporting solutions.
• Create business requirements, functional requirements, data mapping documents, and reporting specifications.
• Support UAT activities by developing test scenarios, validating results, and documenting defects.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Product Managers, Finance Teams, Risk Teams, and Operations Teams.
• Document SQL logic, data sources, business rules, KPI definitions, and reporting processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, data quality, and business processes.
