Job summary

CORE is seeking a Data Analyst to transform governed data into actionable information for leaders across the organization. You will build Power BI dashboards, validate reporting, and translate KPI definitions into reporting requirements while partnering with clinical and business teams.

You will maintain reports, perform analyses (descriptive, diagnostic, and some predictive), and ensure accuracy, usability, and alignment with strategic goals. Hybrid Pittsburgh office presence expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in data analytics, statistics, information systems, or a related field.
• At least three years of relevant experience in data analysis, BI reporting, or decision support.
• Proficiency building dashboards and visualizations in Power BI with DAX and governed semantic models.
• Strong SQL skills for data querying, investigation, reconciliation, and validation.
• Experience gathering and documenting reporting requirements and UAT support.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and data storytelling abilities.

The Data Analyst converts governed data into clear, reliable information that helps CORE leaders and teams understand performance, identify opportunities, and take action. The analyst develops and maintains dashboards, reports, visualizations, and analyses; validates reporting outputs; and translates approved performance priorities, KPI definitions, and business rules into clear reporting requirements.

Working under the supervision of the Chief Information and Supply Chain Officer and in close partnership with the Chief Performance Officer and Performance Team, the analyst serves as a bridge between CORE's business and clinical needs and its technical data environment. The position works with clinical and non-clinical leaders, subject matter experts, data owners, and the Data and Analytics Engineer to ensure that reporting is accurate, understandable, usable, and aligned with organizational objectives.

Essential Job Functions:

• Reporting and visualization development - Develop and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, scorecards, and visualizations using approved data sources and governed semantic models. Create report mock-ups and organize information for executive, operational, clinical, and functional audiences.
• Performance analysis and insights - Analyze trends, variances, patterns, anomalies, segments, and performance drivers. Conduct descriptive, diagnostic, and, when appropriate, predictive analyses to help leaders understand what is occurring, why it may be occurring, and where further investigation or action is needed.
• Requirements and KPI translation - Partner with the Performance Team and stakeholders to document business questions, approved KPI definitions, formulas, targets, dimensions, filters, reporting frequency, security needs, source-system context, and acceptance criteria. Translate those needs into actionable specifications for reporting and technical development.
• Data validation user acceptance testing and report certification - Reconcile reporting outputs to approved source information, test calculations and filters, coordinate user acceptance testing, investigate discrepancies, and work with the Data and Analytics Engineer and data owners to resolve defects or clarify business rules.
• Adoption training and documentation- Develop user guidance, report descriptions, metric documentation, and training materials. Demonstrate reporting solutions, gather feedback, monitor usage and usability, and recommend improvements that increase adoption and decision value.
• Governance collaboration and professional development - Participate in data governance, project, performance, and departmental meetings. Complete assigned action items and maintain relevant knowledge of analytics methods, reporting tools, data privacy, and emerging capabilities, including responsible AI-assisted analytics.

• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

• Work is primarily performed in the office environment in Pittsburgh, with remote or hybrid work subject to approval.

Qualifications: Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in data analytics, business analytics, statistics, data science, information systems, healthcare administration, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• At least three years of relevant experience in data analysis, performance reporting, business intelligence, decision support, or a related field.
• Proficiency developing dashboards and visualizations in Power BI or a comparable enterprise analytics platform; experience with DAX and governed semantic models is strongly preferred.
• Working proficiency in SQL for data querying, investigation, reconciliation, and validation.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze, organize, and explain complex quantitative information.
• Experience gathering and documenting reporting requirements, translating KPI definitions into specifications, and supporting user acceptance testing and report validation.
• Strong written, verbal, facilitation, data-storytelling, and customer-service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while protecting confidential and sensitive information.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Experience in healthcare, organ procurement, transplantation, or another regulated and mission-critical environment.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS, cloud analytics platforms, statistical tools, Python, or R.
• Experience with enterprise KPI programs, balanced scorecards, data governance, metric catalogs, reporting certification, or performance-improvement initiatives.
• Experience with forecasting, predictive analytics, or the responsible use of AI-assisted analytics tools.
• Relevant Microsoft Power BI or analytics certification.
