Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Data Analyst to support performance measurement and analytics efforts at the client level in McLean, VA. You will transform enterprise data into reports, data products, and models, applying AI/ML and statistical methods to generate actionable insights.

Responsibilities include preparing regular and ad hoc performance reports, creating data products, and collaborating with stakeholders. Strong SQL, Python or R, and Tableau skills are required; travel may be necessary.

Qualifications

  • Requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a strongly quantitative field.
  • Minimum 5 years of data analytics experience.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Proficiency in Python or R.
  • Experience building dashboards with Tableau.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Ability to pass drug test and background check.
  • Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, or Mathematics.

Job description

What you’ll do
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc performance reports to deliver timely, useful insights.

Core skills and qualifications
  • TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • US citizenship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a strongly quantitative field (examples include Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Information Systems, or Computational Linguistics).
  • Strong background in data analysis, including a solid understanding of SQL principles.
  • Experience programming in languages such as Python, R, or similar.
  • Ability to build data products such as dashboards and printable reports using visualization tools such as Tableau (or similar).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with individuals at all levels verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organization skills, with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to travel as needed.
  • Must take and pass a drug test and background check, as well as a motor vehicle records check.
  • Minimum experience: 5 years.
  • Preferred qualifications: Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, or Mathematics.

  • High degree of teamwork and cooperation with staff and customers across the company.
Additional responsibilities

  • Quality: comply with Amentum Quality Policy, customer expectations, and applicable quality system documents and customer contracts.
  • Procedure compliance: read, understand, and implement operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements related to the position.
  • Other essential functions include professional grooming and dress appropriate for the position and consistent attendance, with possible overtime during critical peaks.
Compensation

USD 190,000 - 205,000 per year
