Job summary

Saragossa in Houston seeks a Data Analyst to join a global commodities trading business as the first technology hire in the location. You will report to the Head of Data Science and bridge front-office stakeholders with an international data function.

You’ll collect, transform, and organize critical datasets, develop automated reporting solutions, and ensure clear communication between local stakeholders and the data team while building scalable data solutions in Microsoft Fabric.

Qualifications

• Experience in a data-focused role with strong SQL and Python skills.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience in commodities, energy markets, trading, or financial services is highly preferred.

An opportunity has opened for a Data Analyst to join a global commodities trading business, facing off directly to traders and supporting the business as the first technology hire within their Houston location.

Reporting into the Head of Data Science, this role will serve as a key link between front‑office stakeholders and an international data function. You’ll get exposure across the whole firm and inherit a clean slate from a technology perspective – ready for your input.

This position sits at the intersection of trading, analytics, and technology. You'll work closely with traders and analysts to understand business requirements, deliver data‑driven solutions. The primary responsibilities include collecting, transforming, and organizing critical datasets to support business needs, developing automated reporting solutions, and ensuring clear communication and alignment between local stakeholders and the data team.

A significant part of the role will involve building and maintaining data solutions within Microsoft Fabric, supporting analytical workflows, integrating third‑party and real‑time data sources, and helping ensure users have access to reliable, scalable data.

The team is ideally looking for someone with experience in a data‑focused role (think strong SQL and Python skills) alongside hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric. Experience within commodities, energy markets, trading, or financial services is highly preferred.
