Steampunk is seeking a seasoned Data Analyst to work with our team and clients to architect and develop data models, data warehouses, lakes, and lakehouses, and pipelines for government clients. A technologist with strong communication and problem solving is valued, with DoD Tier 3 clearance preferred.

0–2 years of related experience in data design and migration is acceptable. You will contribute to our Data Exploitation Practice, shaping data governance, storage design, and artifacts such as

• 0-2 years of experience with data model and data warehouse design
• 0-2 years of experience collaborating with management, personas, and engineers to support data quality efforts
• Experience with large-scale data migration
• Experience designing storage and retrieval solutions for both structured and unstructured data
• Experience designing data platforms for user consumption
• Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with cloud technology using AWS or Azure; knowledge of managed services
• Understand customer requirements and prioritize for maximum customer / user experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline; CompTIA Network+ preferred

Overview

We are looking foraseasoned DataAnalystto work with our team and our clients toarchitect and developdata models,data warehouses, lakes, andlakehouses,data governance,services, and pipelines.We are looking for more than just a \"DataAnalyst\", but a technologist with excellent communication and customer service skills and a passion for data and problem solving.

Contributions

• Work on migration of data environments with performance and reliability.
• Assess, understand, and document data sources
• Address technical inquiries concerning customization, integration, enterprise architecture and general feature / functionality of data products
• Experience working with database / data warehouse solutions in cloud (Preferably AWS; alternatively Azure, GCP).
• Key must have skill sets – data modeling, data understanding

Qualifications

• Ability to hold a position of public trust with the US government; DOD Tier 3 clearance preferred
• 0-2 years of experience with data model and date warehouse design, including schema design and entity relationship diagrams
• 0-2 years of experience collaborating with management, personas, and engineers to support data quality efforts
• Experience with large-scale data migration
• Experience designing storage and retrieval solutions for both structured and unstructured data, in support of data science pipelines
• Experience designing data platforms for user consumption
• Experience supporting the development of related data artifacts

• Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with cloud technology, using AWS or Azure. Knowledge of managed service offerings (e.g. AWS EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift)
• Experience developing specifications for modern large-scale data repositories including development of specifications for cloud-based database solutions
• Familiarity with FIPS 140-2 compliant encryption to both stored data and data in motion
• Understand customer requirements and prioritize for maximum customer / user experience.
• Experience working with software and data science teams to operationalize information
• Experience collaborating with staff, IT customers, and other technical and non-technical staff and contractors at all levels
• Experience working in an agile environment
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or a scientific or technical discipline
• CompTIA network+ certification preferred

Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $50,000 to $115,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
