Capital One is seeking a Data Analysis Manager in New York to lead data transformation and analytics engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in SQL, programming experience, and extensive knowledge of data governance.
You will collaborate with various teams to deliver high-quality data insights, manage complex databases, and support modernization efforts. A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field and a minimum of 6 years of data analytics experience are essential.
Data is at the center of everything we do at Capital One. Your role as a Data Analyst on the team will heavily leverage your deep expertise in SQL and data transformation. You will be a creative data wrangler, comfortable with extracting, modeling, and transforming large, complex datasets to support our consumers. This requires more than just the ability to write complex, performant queries; you must also possess a thorough understanding of database structures, warehousing best practices, query profiling, and optimization techniques for data modeling and data governance. Ultimately, this is an analytics engineering role supporting not only analysts in the Strategy & Analytics team but a swathe of other data customers across a broader team who are hungry for data, metrics, and insights.
An ideal candidate will be on the leading edge of analytical technology with a passion for the newest and most innovative tools. Possessing strong problem‑solving and conceptual thinking abilities in addition to communication, interpersonal and leadership skills are also important. This role will be in a fast‑paced and entrepreneurial environment where you will be handling multiple concurrent projects while working independently and in teams. This role will have a strong analytics engineering component.

The minimum and maximum full‑time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. This salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part‑time roles will be prorated based upon the agreedupon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $164,800 - $188,100
New York, NY: $179,700 - $205,100
This role is also eligible to earn performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long‑term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non‑discretionary depending on the plan.
