Job summary

Speechify is hiring a Data Engineer to own all aspects of data collection for model training. You will source and ingest audio data, build scalable pipelines, and optimize costs and throughput in a GCP environment.

You will collaborate with scientists and the AI team to roadmap data assets for next-generation consumer and enterprise products, while enjoying a fast-growing, async culture and impactful work in the AI/audio space.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency with bash and Python in Linux environments.
• Experience with Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and GCP.
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing is a plus.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Find new sources of audio data and feed them into the ingestion pipeline.
• Operate and extend cloud infrastructure for the ingestion pipeline on GCP using Terraform.
• Collaborate with scientists to balance cost, throughput, and data quality at scale.
• Define dataset roadmap with AI Team and leadership for Speechify products.
