UP Health System - Marquette is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare network. The Data Abstractor role involves chart retrieval, survey coordination, data transmission, and reporting while upholding strict confidentiality.

Position supports patient care workflows and contributes to training, meetings, and general department duties within a hospital setting in Marquette, MI. Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision are required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associates Degree preferred.
• Licenses: LPN preferred; Certifications: Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP).
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision; able to work in a stressful environment.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves charts from Health Information Management Department using established records procedures.
• Coordinates all aspects of the patient survey, including distribution, data entry, report generation and submission.
• Accurately transmits data and generates reports/graphs per procedures in a timely manner.
• Maintains strict confidentiality of patient, employee and department data.
• Assist with orientation and training of personnel and students.
• Attends meetings as required and/or assigned; performs other related duties as requested.
• Prepares periodic reports as requested.

How you'll contribute

A Data Abstractor who excels in this role:

• Retrieves charts from Health Information Management Department using the established records department procedures.

What we’re looking for

Patient Service Representative:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED Required. Associates Degree preferred
• Licenses: LPN (Preferred)
