Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks a mid-level dashboard developer to unlock insights from complex data, integrating Databricks, SQL, Spark, and BI tools to support defense and national intelligence missions, and turning data into actionable decisions.

You will collaborate with customers in a DoW environment, design dashboards, build predictive analytics, and automate data processes, while presenting insights to senior leadership in a fast-paced matrix landscape.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience with data science or analytics.
  • Experience building robust analytical models including forecasts, cost models, and historical trend analyses.
  • Ability to navigate a complex matrix environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • BA or BS degree.
  • Strong knowledge of data programming languages such as SQL and Python, with the ability to integrate structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Experience facilitating training for BI tools to empower teams with self-service analytics capabilities.
  • Understanding of data management practices within the DoW environment, leveraging SQL or SAS for database manipulation and integration workflows.
  • Outstanding communication skills to align stakeholder needs and track progress effectively.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and statistical analysis capabilities, with the ability to derive actionable conclusions from complex data patterns.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers to understand their questions and dig into a data-rich environment to discover missing pieces in information puzzles.
  • Develop algorithms, write scripts, and build predictive analytics to turn disparate data points into objective answers.
  • Design and implement ETL pipelines to transform and integrate data from diverse sources.
  • Create intuitive dashboards and clear insights using Qlik, Tableau, and Power BI.
  • Present insights to senior leadership and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet organizational objectives.

The mid-level dashboard developer uses the power of their analytical skills to assist and improve the defense industry in numerous ways, working closely with customers to understand their questions and needs and dig into their data-rich environment to discover the missing pieces in the information puzzle. Applying specific functional and general industry knowledge, our dashboard developers discover answers to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity by developing algorithms, writing scripts, building predictive analytics, maximizing automation, applying machine learning and combining tools and frameworks to turn disparate data points into objective answers that help military leaders make informed decisions. The dashboard developer offers customers a deep understanding of their data, what it all means, and how they can use it, and acts as a trusted source who optimizes the potential of data science for good in the defense industry. At the mid-level, this role works independently with some guidance and may review or guide activities of more junior employees.

What we’re looking for:

  • Solid experience in distributed computing frameworkswith hands-on expertise inDatabricks,SQL, andSpark.
