Job summary

Delano Public Schools seeks a dedicated dance coach for the high school competitive winter season. Join the DHS Activities team to support B-Squad, JV, and Varsity with jazz and high kick routines.

You will choreograph at least one routine, lead students, and coordinate practice plans while collaborating with staff and parents. Evening and weekend commitments are required during the competitive season.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication and written skills.
• Time management skills.
• Evidence of good human relations with students, staff, parents, and community.
• Choreography experience.
• Prior dance team experience (1+ years).
• Ability to commute to Delano, MN 3-5 days per week.
• Availability on Saturdays from November to February for competitions.
• MSHSL certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist coaching for one of five level dance teams (B-Squad, JV, Varsity) in jazz and high kick.
• Choreograph at least one routine in either style.
• Lead by example and mentor students.
• Run workouts and practice schedules.
• Collaborate with coaching staff to develop practice plans daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Communicate with parents and athletic directors to coordinate and resolve concerns.
• Work under the head coach and activities department to develop the dance program.
