Dundee Middle School is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Dance Team Coach with a strong knowledge of competitive dance and a focus on student-athletic achievement. Must be able to coach at all levels within the program, able to coach various areas within the program, organized, flexible, able to take direction from the direct supervisor, and able to work with parents and the Booster Club.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous Dance Team coaching experience is preferred. Must be able to manage all levels within the program, able to manage various areas within the program, organized, flexible, able to take direction from their direct supervisor, and able to work and communicate with parents and the Booster Club.
  • Enhance, improve, and maximize students' athletic skills required to compete at a high level.
  • Lead an athletic program for sustained participation and success.
  • In the off-season, make time for strength and speed training. Must be able to lead fundraising, organization, and other tasks for the program.
  • Works with Athletic Department to assure all games, officials, and transportation is scheduled.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment for the entire program.
  • Organizes and oversees all program levels and areas of responsibility.
  • Communicates with Athletic Director to secure facilities to ensure a safe practice/competition environment for students.
  • Sets the philosophy, programmatic instruction of sequential fundamentals, and proper conditioning to maximize the student-athlete experience.
  • Communicates and plan with their assistant coach practice sessions and competition strategies to ensure the health and physical well-being of the student participants.
  • Coordinates with the Athletic Director all in-season practices.
  • Assures that all student participants at his/her program level are in compliance with D300 and IHSA requirements including current athletic physical, Code of Conduct, fees paid, and is academically eligible, prior to practice, tryout, and competition.
  • Models and instills the values of sportsmanship and fair play to all participants, and enforces consequences for breach of such standards.
  • Attends all student-athlete practices, and games, and monitors proper supervision at all practices, games, and on school-provided transportation.
  • Maintains and provides the athletic director with end-of-season individual and team records and statistics.
  • Participates in a mandatory preseason parent meeting and head coaching minutes.
  • Plan for the seasonal student-athlete recognition.
  • Distribution and collection of uniforms and equipment.
  • Other Duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
