Job summary

Equinox in San Ramon, CA seeks a dynamic Group Fitness Instructor to deliver the Equinox Experience in every class. You will tailor intensity, monitor effort, keep classes on time, and communicate member feedback to the Group Fitness Manager.

Requirements include a current certification, CPR/AED, experience teaching in a group setting, and a friendly, outgoing attitude. This on-site role offers per-class pay of $60–$80, plus benefits and generous club discounts.

Qualifications

• Current certification in discipline or Dance Education is required.
• Experience teaching in a group environment is required.
• CPR/AED certification must be current.
• Knowledge of basic anatomy, kinesiology, contraindicated exercises, and modifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Equinox Experience to members in each class.
• Tailor class intensity to participants as needed.
• Monitor exercise intensity throughout the class.
• Ensure classes start and end on time.
• Teach classes regularly and minimize substitutions.
• Communicate member feedback and operational status to the Group Fitness Manager.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Equinox Experience to our members in each class
• Adhere to the description of the class and modify the intensity for participants when necessary
• Continuously monitor the exercise intensity throughout the duration of the class
• Ensure class begins and ends on time
• Teach respective classes on a regular basis and keep subbing to a minimum
• Communicate with Group Fitness Manager on member feedback, equipment and operational status, scheduling, and subbing

Qualifications

• Instructors must possess a current certification in their discipline or Dance Education
• Have experience teaching in a group environment
• Must possess and maintain current CPR/AED certification
• Must be well‑versed in basic anatomy, kinesiology, contraindicated exercises, exercise modifications for all populations
• Must be eager to learn and continue professional development and education
• Must be friendly, vibrant, and outgoing

Pay Transparency: $60‑$80 minimum per class; $18.47/hr (For non‑class work)
