Job summary

Denton Independent School District is seeking a secondary Dance Teacher for the 2026-27 school year to foster a dynamic, student-centered learning environment. You will design engaging lessons that develop technique, artistry, and performance skills aligned with the Fine Arts standards and district curriculum.

The role involves leading drill team activities, coordinating performances and competitions, and collaborating with district teachers to ensure program consistency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for the subject and level assigned.
• ESL certification (preferred) or ability to obtain ESL certification within one year of hire.
• One year of clinical teaching (preferred) or one year of full-time teaching experience may be substituted for clinical teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Foster a dynamic and engaging learning environment aligned with district curriculum and state standards.
• Design and implement instructional strategies to develop technique, artistry, and performance skills.
• Lead and participate in drill team direction and school events, including performances and competitions.
• Plan and supervise student performances and productions that support instructional objectives.
• Collaborate with district dance teachers to ensure program alignment and consistency.
• Assess student progress and adapt lessons to address diverse learning needs.
