Job summary

Peoples Gas System is seeking a Damage Prevention Systems Analyst to support technology and business systems that enhance pipeline safety and damage prevention. You will collaborate with business users, operations, IT, and vendors to improve performance, reporting, and compliance.

This role blends data analytics, system administration, and process improvement to deliver measurable safety and operational results through Power BI dashboards and modern applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Business Analytics, Accounting, Engineering, etc.).
  • 4 years of experience supporting end-user software and platforms.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to communicate software functionalities and reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Support the administration and use of the Damage Prevention Ticket Management System.
  • Monitor system performance, data quality, user activity, and trends.
  • Assist with configuration, testing, implementations, and enhancements.
  • Ensure documentation and procedures stay accurate and up to date.
  • Design and maintain Power BI dashboards and BI reports.
  • Translate business needs into meaningful reports and visualizations to support decisions.
  • Provide user training and troubleshooting to maximize tool value.
  • Collaborate with IT, operations, and vendors to improve processes and system performance.

As a Damage Prevention Systems Analyst, you'll help support the technology and business systems that play a critical role in pipeline safety and damage prevention. You'll work with business users, operations teams, IT professionals, and software vendors to improve system performance, enhance reporting, support compliance efforts, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Do
Support Critical Business Systems
  • Support the administration and effective use of the Damage Prevention Ticket Management System.
  • Monitor system performance, data quality, user activity, and operational trends.
  • Assist with system configuration, testing, implementations, and enhancement projects.
  • Help ensure business processes, documentation, and system procedures remain accurate and up to date.
Build Data & Reporting Solutions
  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and business intelligence tools.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and integrity across reporting sources.
  • Translate business needs into meaningful reports and visualizations that support decision‑making.
Provide User Support & Training
  • Serve as a key resource for end users by providing technical support, troubleshooting assistance, and training.
  • Help users maximize the value of business applications and reporting tools.
  • Document issues, coordinate testing activities, and support successful technology deployments.
Drive Process & Technology Improvements
  • Gather and analyze user feedback, business requirements, and enhancement requests.
  • Collaborate with IT, operations teams, and vendors to improve processes and system performance.
  • Identify innovative technology solutions that increase efficiency, strengthen compliance, and reduce damage prevention risks.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Analytics, Accounting, Business Management, Engineering or related field such as from an accredited institution.
  • 4 years of experience supporting the use of software/platforms by end users
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities; self‑motivated with the ability to work independently. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have related technology knowledge and the ability to comprehend and effectively communicate software/platform functionality, specifications, procedures, and reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word. Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and develop practical solutions to support business operations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience support within a regulated utility.
  • Experience creating Power BI dashboards and working with SharePoint lists.
  • System administration experience in development and implementation.
  • Technical writing experience.

Work Environment

This role works primarily in an office environment while maintaining close collaboration with operational teams. Occasional travel throughout Peoples Gas service territories and visits to gas operations facilities will be required.
