Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Dam Safety EIT to join our Hydropower Practice in Atlanta, GA. The role focuses on inspections, analyses and design for dams and water-retaining structures, with opportunities to support contract documents and cost estimates.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team on hydropower, pumped-storage and dam safety projects across the United States, with travel as needed and emphasis on quality, teamwork and client service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical engineering.
• EIT certificate required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with dams, water conveyances or other hydropower project works.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support inspections and engineering assessments of dams and water retaining structures.
• Conduct analyses, evaluations and designs; develop design options with supporting calculations.
• Prepare contract documents including drawings, specifications, design documentation and criteria, and cost estimates.
• Work with project engineers to address unique engineering elements.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on hydropower and dam safety projects.
• Support risk assessments for dams and hydraulic structures.
• Some travel is required.
