Job summary

Dakota Wesleyan University invites applications for the position of Assistant Track and Field Coach. The assistant coach will support all aspects of the track & field program, with hands-on experience in both day-to-day operations and coaching responsibilities.

This role reports directly to the Head Cross Country/Track & Field Coach and serves as an integral part of a NAIA athletic program. The assistant coach will assist with planning daily practices, specialize in jumps/hurdles, pole vault

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Ability to manage several tasks with follow-through.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to recruit quality student athletes.
• Ability to work weekends as typical in collegiate athletics.
• Strict adherence to NAIA, conference, and university rules.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and implementation of daily practices and team meetings.
• Specialize coaching in jumps/hurdles, pole vault, and high jump.
• Support program operations: equipment, travel, meet prep.
• Participate in recruitment through evaluations, communications, and campus visits.
• Assist with administrative tasks, academic monitoring, and social media content.
• Help foster a team environment promoting athletic, academic, and personal excellence.
• Contribute to home meets and special team events.
• Represent the university professionally at all times.

• Assist with planning and implementation of daily practices, training sessions, and team meetings
• Demonstrated coaching specialty in the following areas: jumps and/or hurdles, pole vault and/or high jump
• Support all facets of program operations, including equipment management, travel coordination, and meet preparation
• Participate in recruitment of prospective student-athletes through evaluations, communication, and campus visits
• Assist with administrative tasks, academic monitoring, and occasional social media content
• Help facilitate a team environment that promotes athletic, academic, and personal excellence
• Contribute to the planning and execution of home meets and special team events
• Represent Dakota Wesleyan University in a professional manner at all times
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
