Job summary

AgSource is seeking a Dairy Programs Analyst in Madison, WI to support dairy information systems and perform data analysis. You will engage in designing, testing, and using information systems, and assist with documentation and project design as part of cross-functional teams.

After an initial training period, there is an opportunity to work remotely 1-2 days per week. Strong communication, customer service, and technical skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.

  • Strong computer skills with familiarity in Microsoft products.
  • Scheduling flexibility and ability to adjust schedules based on workflow.
  • Familiarity with the dairy industry preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Write queries in SQL Server Management Studio for problem solving and testing.
  • Assist in project design and create initial documentation.
  • Test development projects and assist with implementation and problem solving.

Dairy Programs Analyst– Madison, WI
SUMMARY STATEMENT

Participate in development projects that enhance the competitive position of AgSource and provide technical support in use of AgSource Dairy information systems and services. This position will also maintain good attendance is a condition of employment and an essential function of your job. And will abide by all AgSource policies and procedures relevant to this position. After the initial training period, ability to work remote 1-2 days per week is available.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform activities related to the design, testing, implementation, and use of information systems. Duties include, but may not be limited to:
    • Evaluate and analyze data to meet the needs of our customers and industry.
    • Use SQL Server Management Studio to write queries for problem solving and testing.
    • Assist in project design and prepare initial documentation.
    • Conduct testing of development projects, assist with implementation and problem solve to complete the utmost diverse and up to date projects to move our company forward.
    • Evaluate, interpret and transmit data files to meet business needs.
  • Coordinate with industry stakeholders to ensure necessary exchange of data; including but not necessarily limited to incoming and outgoing STF files, data files for genetic evaluations and breed association files. Be involved in meetings and discuss concerns and or problem solve with other industry members to move data forward to meet the needs of growing customers.
  • Maintain customer data both internally and on a national level, animal records, and cooperative information or communications with the utmost of security and confidentiality.
  • Be proficient and remain current with systems, products, and procedures. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of dairy information systems. Assist with training programs as necessary. Understand, follow, and enforce all rules and AgSource policies.
  • Provide customers with resale and knowledge of current products being sold.
    • Keep accurate prices and communicate with managers and customers.
    • Work closely with both eartag vendors and resale vendors to coordinate shipping and delivery in timely matter.
    • Maintain and keep precise records for billing purposes and future orders for customers.
    • Work with marketing team to provide brochures on current items and details to provide a full understanding we can share with our customers.
  • Participate in educational, professional and industry activities related to area of responsibility and cooperative needs. Serve as a technical resource for employees, customers/members and agribusinesses.
  • Promote and adhere to safety in workplace.
    • Support company safety goals and follow safety policies and procedures. Immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability and report and unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned (including computer room back-up).
Requirements
