Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. seeks a Production Planner for the Country Fresh plant in Grand Rapids, MI. You will coordinate production and inventory control to align with schedules and inventory requirements for raw materials and finished goods.

Responsibilities include forecasting needs, placing raw ingredient orders, coordinating with DFA Procurement, and liaising with sales to balance capacity and customer service. Strong Excel and ERP experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field is a plus.
• 3–5 years of experience in production planning, purchasing, inventory management.
• Strong computer proficiency with Excel; experience with an ERP system and adaptability to learn different software.

Responsibilities

• Order raw ingredients for fluid milk, cream and cultured products.
• Forecast production needs using promotional information and past trends.
• Maintain finished goods inventories to meet service targets.
• Communicate information to supervisor for decision-making and problem solving.
• Confirm inventories on Raw Milk Supply and coordinate with DFA Procurement.
• Schedule outbound cream loads via Dairy.com.
• Liaise between plant and sales to resolve customer service issues.
• Participate in sales warehouse meetings and coordinate promotional information for production capacity.
• Meet standards for order fill rate and finished goods inventory levels.
