Job summary

HP Hood LLC in Winchester, VA is seeking a Lab Technician to perform dairy product testing and sample handling in a quality-focused environment. The role supports GMP, QA/QC, and SQF programs to ensure product safety and compliance.

You will pull and process samples, log results, and assist in CIP sanitation while operating lab equipment and maintaining records. Strong teamwork and microbial/chemical knowledge are valuable assets for success.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in related science or equivalent quality role experience in food manufacturing.
• Experience in food manufacturing is preferred.
• Knowledge of food microbiology, chemistry, dairy standards and CIP sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing to meet PMO, Standard Methods for the Dairy Industry and FDA methods.
• Pull, log, and run samples for finished products and processing stages.
• Audit CIP chemical concentrations and ensure compliance to company specs.
• Prepare media and basic lab controls; operate autoclave and maintain sterility.
• Support lab equipment PMs and maintain documentation for quality systems.
