Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Food Clerk to help create a welcoming and well-run store experience in our Fresh departments. You will connect with customers, share product knowledge, and keep displays fresh and organized in Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce, and Grocery.

You should enjoy staying active, be detail-oriented, and comfortable using store technology. Prior retail or food service experience is helpful but not required; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or retail is helpful but not required.
• Ability to learn and use store technology.
• Willingness to be physically active, including standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming store experience in Fresh departments.
• Help customers find products and share product knowledge.
• Maintain full, fresh, visually appealing displays.
• Stock, rotate, and merchandise products per standards.
• Follow food safety, sanitation and quality procedures.
• Assist across Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery.

What You’ll Do

As a Food Clerk, you play a key role in creating a fresh, welcoming, and well‑run store experience within our Fresh departments.

• Build positive connections with customers and teammates
• Share product knowledge and help customers find what they need
• Maintain full, fresh, and visually appealing product displays
• Stock, rotate, and merchandise product according to standards
• Use technology to complete tasks efficiently and accurately
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures
• Work across departments including Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery
• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly
