Qualifications

• Certification required for operation of forklift and/or pallet jack.
• Ability to write, speak, hear, and understand spoken word; respond promptly to pages, requests, guests.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• High School diploma or GED; or related job experience and/or training required.
• Equipment: pallet jack, forklift, box cutters, two-wheeler, six-wheeler, baler, ladder, etc.
• Three years+ stocking experience required; Previous leadership skills preferred.
• Basic math skills; understanding of projections, summaries, invoices, transfers, labor goals, inventory.
• Minimum age 18 years.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit maximum customer relations through friendly and courteous behavior.
• Promote morale and open communication within department and store.
• Maintain good relationships with other department managers to improve sales storewide.
• Work as a team to ensure store success.
• Comply with company policies and Code of Conduct.
• Provide professional examples for other staff to follow.
• Ensure adequate stock by proper ordering and inventory control.
• Plan work schedules with Store Director to align with department and store needs.
• Ensure timely receipt of incoming supplier products and return of product as needed.
• Understand sales, gross profit, labor, and inventory and their impact on department operations.
• Maintain department records at all times.
• If supervising, provide training and conduct evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Stay aware of the competitive market and respond to pricing and product concerns.
• Set professional examples for team members to follow.
