Qualifications

• Strong written and oral communication skills with leadership ability.
• Friendly, courteous, proactive and composed with customers, co-workers and vendors.
• Ability to judge business activity and respond accordingly.
• Familiar with cleaning chemicals and safety practices.
• Complies with company policies including attendance and dress codes.
• Physically able to reach, lift up to 80 lbs. and stand for long periods.
• Basic math, inventory control, pricing, and shipping/receiving knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise Dairy Department operations with the Grocery Manager.
• Assist in ordering, receiving, stocking, inventory control, and building displays.
• Maintain enthusiastic customer service with safety and courtesy; engage in suggestive selling.
• Assist in planning regular and seasonal merchandise needs and special sales.
• Rotate and face product; clean and dust shelves; discard outdated items.
• Order Dairy merchandise and train dairy stocking standards.
• Assist with dry grocery orders and stocking.
• Assist with new items and reclamation process.
• Manage backroom inventory and department standards.
• Support grocery department merchandising and display building.
• May act as back-up cashier.
