Sprouts Farmers Market in Honolulu, Hawaii is seeking a friendly Dairy Clerk to stock dairy and frozen cases, assist customers, and maintain cleanliness and safety in the department. You will rotate stock, check sell-by dates, weigh items on scales, operate pallet jacks and other equipment, and contribute to a positive shopping experience with accuracy and efficiency.

The role requires a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays, and adherence to safety and weight regulations;

Job Introduction

The Dairy Clerk is responsible for keeping all store dairy and frozen cases stocked and clean during business hours. They assist customers as needed while maintaining a friendly, energetic demeanor and adhere to all procedural guidelines set by the Dairy department.

Overview of Responsibilities

• Ensure cleanliness of dairy cases, storage area, and work area for safety, including cleaning shelves and products, keeping floors free of liquid spills, removing hazardous debris, and sweeping.
• Stock dairy cases, presenting product, facing, filling, and organizing all items according to Dairy Department schematics, and ensuring tag and pricing accuracy.
• Examine rotation of all dairy products, paying particular attention to expired stock and discarding outdated or spoiled items.
• Respond positively to customer inquiries and assist customers with purchases, information, and product selection; sell and cross‑sell products.
• Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality.
• Monitor point of purchase signs and maintain a variety of recipe cards, product coupons, promotional material, and information on complimentary foods.
• Operate and use equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Use knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products.
• Sustain a high level of product knowledge and product preparation.
• Walk the department regularly to ensure an organized, sanitary, and clean appearance at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Team Member Age Restrictions (Under 18)

• Use a knife (other than safety cutters).
• Use a ladder.
• Operate a garbage or cardboard compactor.
• Operate any motor or electronically powered equipment (including manual pallet jacks).
• Work in coolers or freezers for prolonged periods of time.

Qualifications

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including night, weekends, and holidays.

• Vertically/horizontally transfer boxes/crates weighing 40–60lbs from 5–72in or 62–9in, up to 10ft, for 6–50hours without mechanical assistance.
• Walk up to 5mi during an 8‑hour shift.
• Use a 2‑step stool to access shelves for up to 1 step per 8hours.
• Walk up to 3mi per 8‑hour shift.
• Adhere to all safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Pay Range

The pay range for this position is $18.15–$23.60 per hour, based on applicable experience and qualifications.
