Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat's Quonset Point facility seeks Deck Plate Detail Planners to support operations in a fast-paced production environment.

You will develop work instructions, incorporate design changes, monitor schedules, and collaborate with operations, engineering, and program offices to ensure quality.

This on-site role covers Mechanical, Pipe, Structural, Sheetmetal, and Electrical disciplines, offering long-term growth in a demanding shipyard setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in trade, shipyard, planning/production control, design, inventory, scheduling, project management, customer service, or logistics.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel & Word.
• Experience utilizing blueprints & technical documents.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree.
• Preferred: EB Planning, Operations, Engineering, Design, or Program Office.
• Knowledge of Teamcenter, NX, ARTEMIS, PCM/EWP MRP, JCALS.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance & Development of Work Instructions using Teamcenter, PCM/EWP
• Incorporation of design changes (CRs/CNs), LOA revisions, problem sheets, work transfers, etc.
• Adherence to planning processes & procedures with continuous improvement in mind
• Collaboration with peers and supervision for the development of new processes and procedures
• Executing department goals related to quality and attainment
• Monitoring construction schedules
• Performing tactical problem solving
• Attending meetings with prepared and attentive answers
• Collaboration with internal & external stakeholders such as operations, engineering, program office, advanced planning, & production control planning
• Detailed problem resolution with an emphasis on quality

Electric Boat - Quonset Point is seeking Deck Plate Detail Planners who are ready to work in a fast-paced production environment performing planning functions in support of Quonset Point Operations departments.
