Job summary

Fairview Health Services seeks a Cytotechnologist for M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center-East Bank. The role is a full-time day shift (8am–4:30pm) with a sign-on bonus up to $10,000. The CT will perform testing and interpret results across GYN and non-GYN specimens, collaborating with pathologists and clinical teams.

Requirements include a B.S./B.A. in a related field with CLIA high complexity qualification, ASCP CT or SCT cert within 1 year, and GYN Cytology proficiency

Qualifications

• B.S./B.A. in a related laboratory field including practicum or equivalent CLIA high complexity qualification.
• Ability to work under stress in various situations.
• Independent judgment in laboratory settings.
• Good manual dexterity for handling specimens.
• ASCP Cytologist (CT) or SCT within 1 year.
• GYN Cytology Proficiency Testing within 1 year.
• 3 years experience in area of specialty (preferred).
• SurePath certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Follows guidelines to process specimens and prioritize work.
• Assesses specimen integrity for testing.
• Recognizes infectious, atypical, and abnormal changes in GYN and non-GYN specimens.
• Communicates abnormal and critical results to care giver or pathologist.
• Participates in laboratory quality assurance and performance improvement programs.
• Supports lab performance improvement by data collection and action steps.
