Job summary

Summa Health System in Barberton, OH, is seeking a full-time Cytotechnologist for 1st shift at the Barberton campus. The role involves screening slides, ensuring QC/QA, and referring cases to a pathologist for final diagnosis. Strong concentration and precision in cytology are essential.

Qualifications

Formal Education Required: BA/BS in Cytotechnology and graduation from CAAHEP accredited Cytotechnology program.
Or prior to Sept 1, 1992: two years in an accredited science program and graduation from an accredited school of cytotechnology.
Certified in cytotechnology by a certification agency approved by HHS (e.g. ASCP).
Ability to concentrate on repetitive tasks and operate lab equipment.

Responsibilities

Screen slides for detection and diagnosis of disease by examining cytology specimens.
Verify correctness of findings following QC/QA procedures.
Refer positive/abnormal cases to a pathologist for final diagnosis.
