The Position

The Contra Costa Health Department is recruiting individuals to fill a Cytotechnologist Per Diem position(s) located in the Clinical Laboratory Unit at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) located in Martinez, CA. CCRMC is a full-service county hospital and offers a complete array of patient-centered healthcare services delivered in a beautiful facility. The Cytotechnologist will examine smears of tissue for abnormalities of cell matter, will screen to identify atypical cells, will assist physicians in the preparation of slides for specialized procedures, will document the slide interpretation results of each gynecological and non-gynecological cytology case, and will contact other cytological labs to study abnormal smears.

Minimum Qualifications

License Required: A valid license as a Cytotechnologist issued by the State of California Department of Health.

Experience: Two years of full-time experience in a clinical laboratory performing cytological tests and analyses.

Selection Process

• Application Filing and Evaluation: All applicants will be required to complete a supplemental questionnaire at the time of application, applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process.
• Training and Experience Evaluation: Candidates who clearly demonstrate that they possess the minimum qualifications will have their training and experience evaluated. The responses to the supplemental questions, at the time of filing, will be evaluated to determine each candidate's relevant education, training, and/or experience as presented on the application and supplemental questionnaire. (Weighted 100%)

The Human Resources Department may change the examination steps noted above in accordance with the Personnel Management Regulations and accepted selection practices.

CONVICTION HISTORY
