Job summary

Baptist Health in Jacksonville, FL, is hiring a Fulltime Cytotechnologist to join the Anatomical & Pathology lab at Baptist Medical Center. Work hours are 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with responsibilities including specimen processing, staining and preliminary microscopic evaluation.

The ideal candidate will be licensed in Florida, with a Certified Cytotechnologist (CT) credential (ASCP) and hands-on experience in cytology. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate is licensed in Florida and has CT (ASCP) certification.
• Hands-on specimen processing experience and microscopic interpretation background.
• Bachelor of Science required; cytology credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain expertise in collection, processing, staining and interpretation of cytologic specimens.
• Perform clerical, safety and quality improvement functions within the lab.
• Instruct new employees, Cytotechnologists and Cytopreparatory technicians.

This ideal day shift opportunity offers weekday hours from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.In this Cytotechnologist job, you'll work independently in our Anatomical & Pathology (A&P) lab, performing essential duties including specimen collection, processing, staining, and preliminary microscopic evaluation. You’ll also support clerical, safety, and quality improvement initiatives alongside a small, collaborative team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in specimen processing and some background in microscopic interpretation. At Baptist Health, cytotechnologists play a critical role in early disease detection and accurate diagnosis, directly impacting patient outcomes.
