Job summary

Solvet Services, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Cytopreparation Technician to support the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service at the Memphis VA Medical Center in Tennessee. The role involves preparing and processing cytology specimens for microscopic examination while upholding strict quality standards and patient safety procedures.

The ideal candidate will have cytology/lab experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to follow written procedures, with compliance to HIPAA

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field preferred.
• Minimum of one year of laboratory experience in cytology, histology, pathology, or a clinical lab preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, accession, verify, and process gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens.
• Prepare conventional and liquid-based cytology slides using established procedures.
• Perform centrifugation, fixation, staining, coverslipping, and labeling.
• Maintain quality control documentation and assist in quality assurance activities.
