Job summary

LCH Lab. Corp. of America Holdings is seeking a Lab Supervisor for our Cytology department in Raritan, NJ. This position oversees daily lab operations and entails technical oversight, quality control, and team training.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree, ASCP certification, and at least 6 years of experience. Competitive pay range: $120,000 – $165,000 annually plus a sign-on bonus of $15,000 for external candidates.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience as a Cytotechnologist.
• ThinPrep and SurePath certifications are a plus.
• Experience with automated and non-automated testing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise screening area and provide technical oversight of the Cytology laboratory.
• Conduct competency training and performance appraisals for the Cytology team.
• Screen liquid-based cytology and conventional slides.
• Conduct microscopic evaluation of specimens following laboratory procedures.

Job description

Labcorp is seeking a dynamic Lab Supervisor to join our Cytology department in Raritan, NJ. The role oversees day-to-day operations and microscopic evaluation of cellular material, and collaborates closely with the Cytology Technical Supervisor/Pathologist.

Sign‑On Bonus: $15,000 for external candidates only.

Pay Range: $120,000 – $165,000 annually, dependent on skills, experience, and market data.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 6:00am to 7:00pm.

Responsibilities

• Supervise screening area and provide technical oversight of the Cytology laboratory.
• Maintain quality control qualifications for all Cytotechnologists.
• Ensure proper coverage, scheduling, and workload allocation to meet TAT expectations.
• Conduct competency training and performance appraisals for the Cytology team.
• Perform inspections, validations, and statistical analysis of laboratory work.
• Screen liquid‑based cytology (manual and imaged) and conventional slides.
• Conduct microscopic evaluation of specimens following laboratory procedures.
• Document workload and record-keeping in compliance with CLIA guidelines.
• Comply with safety, infection control, and HIPAA policies.
• Review unsatisfactory cases reported by Cytotechnologists and issue final reports.
• Develop and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regularly.
• Maintain CME documentation for the Cytology department.
• Maintain cyto‑biopsy correlation and 5‑year review of NILM cases.
• Process payroll and maintain personnel files.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university.
• Successful completion of an accredited Cytology program.
• ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) certification required.
• Minimum 6 years of experience as a Cytotechnologist.
• ThinPrep and SurePath certifications are a plus.
• Qualifications to maintain QC Cytotechnologist standards.
• Experience with automated and non‑automated testing preferred.
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and strong communication skills (written and verbal).
